Another bright and early morning! We left the Seltzer’s just after 5 and headed north. Our goal is to get to the crater lake area. We never know how long it’s goin to take or what we will find ahead, but that’s the beauty of this kind of camping. Just go until you find what you are looking for and set up camp…well, kinda.
Along the way this time, we stopped at a hidden beauty. It’s called Mossbrae Falls. It’s quite a hike to get there but worth every bit of the effort! Only some of us got to go…you had to cross a FREEZING creek in knee deep water, and not everyone could do that. It was just too cold and the rocks were so slippery for the little ones. As it turned out, Silas and Onna got piggey-backed over, so they got to go. I actually made it too! Lost a shoe in the process of crossing the creek and had to finish the hike barefoot but that was ok.

The way to access the falls was by first going to Hedge creek falls, then going over the river and through the woods…literally, and then down a railroad track. We found a cave too! It was such a wonderful stop and such a great experience!

We stopped off and did some grocery shopping for the next few days. I was shocked at the prices! But we got what we needed and headed out. We passed Mt. Shasta along the way. We have seen smoke in the air, but this view it was nice and clear. Such a beauty!

We made it to the Crater Lake area up in Oregon! We found a nice place to set up our tent for a few nights. Near enough to Crater Lake, yet away from everyone else so it was nice and quiet. We have been on our trip for almost 2 weeks and this is the first time we set up camp. We have been so blessed to stay with so many loving and generous family and friends. I never expected our trip to start like this, but I wouldn’t trade any bit of it! We are so loved and feel that so deeply from all the folks we have been with. We thank the Lord for each family and pray He blesses them richly as He has blessed us through them.
